In 1987, while working on several documentaries, I was one of many outsiders who traveled Highway BR-364 from São Paulo deep into the heart of the Amazon. The first time we drove from São Paulo all the way to Xapuri in the state of Acre. The blue markers are the photos from those trips. The yellow markers are the photos from 15 years later, when I returned to make the documentary “Children of the Amazon.”
